
There are several implications that the remake of Year of the Dragon was rushed out before the game itself was fully polished: there's multiple glitches and bugs that aren't present in the other two games, and some of the animations are noticeably stiffer (with several facial animations outright failing to animate correctly) than in the other games.Giving all the dragons unique designs is but one of the cited reasons: note that while they all do have unique designs, the baby dragons in the third game are even more copy/paste than in the PS1 game, having fewer designs and animations. Toys for Bob spent a lot of time just on the original game, which left little time for Ripto's Rage! and Year of the Dragon.However, in Haunted Tomb, the regular theme continues to play during Agent 9's segment.
Blooper: Normally, while playing the other characters in Year of the Dragon, their leitmotif (or a remix in the case of Enchanted Towers) plays in the background. When first hearing of the project, he was hesitant over concerns it wouldn't capture the feel of his original, but by his own admission, he was moved to tears when he heard the remastered versions.
Stewart Copeland also gave Toys for Bob his blessing in regards to the remastered version of the soundtrack. After the game was released, Insomniac Games even started running their own streams of it. Toys for Bob also said that they had consulted with Insomniac Games to stay true to the originals. Insomniac Games thanked Toys for Bob for bringing back their original games and stated that they're rooting for them. Gregg Berger voices Ripto, Crush and Gulp.
